What does Latisse™ do?
Latisse (bimatoprost) a topical prescription product from
Allergan (the makers of Botox and Juvederm), is the first and only
scientifically proven product approved by the FDA to stimulate
eyelashes to grow longer and thicker. Latisse is a prescription product that is only available through physicians.
Latisse is now available at Modern Priscilla In York, Maine. Call today 207-363-5077.
While using Latisse your lashes do not shed as they normally would so
they continue to grow longer. Use Latisse until your eyelashes have
reached the length you desire. You can maintain your lash length by
using Latisse 2 -3 times per week. Latisse can also be used to
stimulate eyebrow growth.
Instructions
Latisse comes with a packet of brush applicators and
directions. We have found that using a clean eyeliner brush provides
more accurate application of Latisse and also makes your product last
longer.
To use Latisse: Apply in the morning, to clean, dry eyelids. To apply,
put 1-2 drops into the cap of the bottle and dip an eyeliner brush into
it. Your brush should be wet but not dripping. Apply brush along the
base of the upper lashes, as you would eyeliner, once daily.
Latisse instructions say not to apply to lower eyelids, lower lashes
and eyebrows. We have found that the product does help with lower
lashes and eyebrows and can be used to treat these areas. Try to avoid
getting the solution into your eyes or on the skin under your eyes. It
is likely that some solution may occasionally get on these areas and it
is not a cause for concern. In these cases, you may notice a slight
irritation so be as careful as you can not to wet the skin around the
eyes. If using a reusable brush, rinse well with water after each use
and keep it in a clean place. You can apply makeup directly after using
Latisse.
What You Can Expect
Longer lashes can typically be
seen within 4 to 8 weeks. In rare cases, eyelash growth may take up to
3 months. Once your lashes have reached the desired length reduce
applications to 2-3 times per week. This is necessary to maintain your
results. If application is discontinued the eyelashes will begin to
shed normally and return to their pretreatment appearance in 2-4 weeks.
Precautions
When used as directed on the eyelids for eyelash growth
Latisse has been proven safe with no serious adverse events reported.
Side effects were typically limited to temporary redness of the eye or
eyelids. When used in the eye daily for glaucoma treatment, other side
effects have been reported such as darkening of the skin under the eyes
or the irises. See package insert for more details.
